We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new opportunity born from a mutual love of national parks, adventure, and the outdoor experiences that shape us! National Park After Dark, the wildly popular podcast that dives into the beauty, mystery, and darker history of America’s national parks, has partnered with Happy Camper Voyages to create a yearly scholarship for one lucky teen to experience the magic of the parks. This scholarship will cover one full session of our 2-week National Park Summer Camps, plus the camper’s travel expenses to Charlotte, NC (where the trips depart from), making it possible for teens to experience the magic of the national parks even if their families couldn’t normally afford an opportunity like this. These life changing trips not only help young adults visit the national parks, but they get to do so in a summer camp environment that incorporates leadership development, team building, and personal growth into every hike and activity. HOW IT WORKS
Ready to hit the road? Here’s how to apply:
- Click the button below to submit an application.
- Teens can apply for themselves — or parents, guardians, and other adults can apply on behalf of a teen they think would love and benefit from this type of impactful adventure.
- Any student within the US is eligible. Scholarship recipients must currently be in 6th-11th grade (rising 7th-12th grade in summer of 2026) — or a homeschool equivalent.
- Any of our 2026 2-week sessions are eligible for this scholarship! You can browse all of the exciting 2026 destinations under the National Park Summer Camps > 2026 Sessions tab here on our website, and then let us know which trip you’d like to attend on your application.
- Applications close on February 28, 2026.
- The scholarship winners will be contacted in March of 2026 to confirm their/their teens participation. If we do not hear back from the first winner, a new winner will be selected.
